Feel Good Friday: Messages to those who cared

As a Trust, we encourage patients and staff to share their experiences and give feedback. Many of the people who get in touch want to say thank you and show appreciation to those who have helped them. We wanted to share some of the messages to those who cared…

Hannah McIver gives a peace sign from her hospital bed
Everyone on Postbridge Ward, from start to finish was amazing. Made me feel very safe and well looked after. Thank you all so much for making a somewhat what scary experience as easy as possible. Hannah McIver
Courtney Beere and partner stand outside the hospital
I had a gallbladder surgery today and wanted to express extreme gratitude to the kind staff who cared for me and answered all of my questions. I was very nervous, being far away from home and never having had surgery before. The nurse held my hand while they were setting up for surgery, but also distracted me with friendly conversation while we were waiting for the operating room to be ready. She deserves an award, I really can’t thank her enough. The surgeon and anaesthesiologist’s were lovely and the aftercare nurse I had was also very patient. Thank you all so much. This is me before heading in to the hospital this morning. Courtney Beere
Erica Tarr and her partner hold their newly delivered son Edward
Thank you for looking after us Lynn up until your hand over. Best back rubs ever and helped to keep me breathing through the pain focus on the delivery.
Also thank you to Lisa for your loving nature care and attention to Edward upon his arrival and quick responses.
To the lovey pink lady Eilish up on the recovery ward. For your warm words, comfort and advice.
And to all the other lovely members of the team that make it all possible.
Much love Erica, John, big brother Robert and Baby Edward
Charlotte and partner hold baby Alexander
Thank you for the care you gave me and my little boy when I was in from the June 23. He is the most content little boy I have known. Thank you for the support you have given Alexander, he is just perfect. Charlotte Saliba
Sammie Mullin grins while sitting on a swing in a colourful dress
Phoebe and her family would like to thank everyone who works on Woodcock Ward for all of the amazing care that was given to her.
Naturally it was a scary time for us, but you were all calm and very helpful. You all do such an amazing job.
A special thanks to Shannon, Lucy and Chloe.
Phoebe is much better and still singing Jingle Bells!!
Lynsey Moffat holds a drink after her day surgery in Tavistock
Thanks to the Day Case Team at Tavistock for all your kindness and attention. I was very nervous for my first surgery, even though I knew what to expect. I was immediately put at ease by everyone’s attentiveness and professionalism. Names I remember were Edwin (ST5), Davina who held my hand as I was put under, Bex (I think) who discharged me and made sure I was OK when I was feeling really sick. Special mention also to the student nurse who completed my pre-op checks. That is no poor reflection on anyone who’s name I didn’t catch, everyone was lovely. Everything was clean and tidy. A credit to the institution and to themselves. Lynsey Moffat
