Within the recruitment team we have been working to establish partnerships within our communities. We have managed to secure collaborations with both City College Plymouth and The Prince’s Trust…
NHS Careers Hub
Firstly, we are proud to be opening our NHS Careers Hub, the first in the South West region, at City College Plymouth. This Hub is designed to engage post 16 students in all things NHS Careers.
We have been successful in recruiting an NHS Careers Hub Lead, and are planning to have our facility accessible from September onwards. Keep your eyes peeled for our opening event which will be announced soon.
The Princes Trust Partnership
Secondly, here at UHP, we have been fortunate to receive continuous support from our colleagues at The Prince’s Trust. They have been an ever-present at our recent events, offering additional support to young people (16 to 30-year-olds) who are looking to join our workforce. This includes pre-employment programmes, mentoring and Development Awards.
Development Awards are financial support and can be used to cover anything from travel to childcare. These awards are available on a case-by-case basis and can be of a maximum of £500. In a bid to continue to support young people joining our organisation, we have reached an honorary agreement with The Prince’s Trust to receive their fantastic support, currently, until March 2024.
UHP Careers Fayre
Following the success of the event in April, we are pleased to announce the upcoming Careers Wide Open Day on 4 November 2023 at Derriford Centre for Health and Wellbeing. This event offers an opportunity for various departments within the hospital to actively participate and engage with member of the general public.
Regardless of your professional domain – be it nursing, technology, administrator, or other vital areas – your involvement is warmly encouraged. The occasion serves as a platform to showcase the dedication and excellence of our workforce, while inspiring prospective individuals to consider a career in the healthcare sector.
This event is also an opportunity to make meaningful interactions with other colleagues within the Trust, fostering potential collaborations and synergies. Please save the date in your diaries and contact Resourcing, Outreach and Events Lead Scarlett Sterne on plh-tr.recruitmentcomms@nhs.net if you would like to represent your department.
