Friday 28 July saw our Annual General Meeting take place at the Age UK William and Patricia Venton Centre…
With the theme of ‘Building for the Future’, we heard from colleagues from around the Trust about developments happening around the site and the impact they’ve had on patients, staff and the wider community. We also heard from Plymouth Area Disability Action Network representative, Lois Lloyd about the importance of accessibility in new buildings and from CEO at AGE UK, David Wood who spoke about partnership working.
Chief Executive, Ann James, said: “I feel hugely privileged to be part of a wider team with such talent, commitment, and expertise. The presentations radiated ‘people’ – whether that was patients, communities, learners, patient experiences, and those no longer with us but whose legacies continue.
“We have already achieved so much together, and our foundations are strong to continue to serve our communities now and for the future.”
Trust Chairman, James Brent, added: “It is admirable what has been achieved between partners to date but clearly there is so much more to do – a very exciting time ahead.”
Following the meeting, Board members along with our community partners were invited to take a tour of the Age UK facility and the new Discharge Assessment Unit at Mount Gould.
